Wind commonly speeds up and shifts direction with altitude — check this before climbing, especially on a return-to-home battery margin. Open-Meteo does not publish gust data above 10 m, so gusts aren't shown here at all.

Each card is rated Good, Caution or Not suitable against your drone profile. The banner at the top then combines them using four rules:

  • Core conditions decide. Wind, gusts, precipitation, visibility and temperature can each make the overall status Not suitable.
  • Some conditions only warn. Kp index, cloud cover, humidity, UV, air quality and wind shear can raise the status to Caution at most, because they don’t directly limit whether the drone can fly.
  • Cold and wind together count more. When temperature and wind are both at Caution or worse, the status becomes Not suitable: cold batteries and hard-working motors drain power much faster together.
  • Your drone sets the limits. The standard profile rates wind as Good up to 18 km/h and gusts up to 28 km/h. Choose another profile, or enter your drone’s own wind rating, to change them.

The rating covers the weather only; check airspace restrictions separately. Read the full rating rules
