Drone Wind Calculator
Check current wind and gusts against your drone's real safety margin.
Planning aid only — not certified flight-planning software or airspace clearance. Always verify results against your own aircraft's manual and check current regulations before flying. Full disclaimer.
This is an informational calculation based on the limit you selected — not a guarantee that flight is safe or legally authorized. Always follow your drone manufacturer's published limits and your judgement on the day.
How it works
Pick where your wind limit comes from — your saved drone profile (the same one UAV Meteo's home page already rates conditions against) or a manufacturer wind-resistance spec you enter directly. Then enter the current wind speed and gusts, either by hand or automatically from a location's live forecast. The calculator shows how much margin you have below your limit, using the exact same good/caution/bad thresholds as the rest of UAV Meteo.
Example
A drone rated for 40 km/h max wind resistance, flying in 18 km/h wind with 25 km/h gusts, has roughly 55% wind margin and 30% gust margin — comfortably inside the "good" band on both.
Limitations
This is a margin calculation, not a safety guarantee — real conditions can gust higher than reported, and local obstructions/turbulence aren't modeled here at all. Always use your own judgement and your drone manufacturer's published limits.
