Cookies & advertising

Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's consent message, a consent management platform certified under the IAB Europe Transparency & Consent Framework. Visitors in US states with privacy laws can opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information through the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link that Google shows on the page. You can change your choice at any time with the button below.

Always active (essential)

Regardless of your choice, we use a small amount of essential local browser storage to run the site:

• Google's consent message stores your choice in its own cookies on this site (such as FCCDCF and FCNEC), so you're not asked again on every visit.
• df_last_location, df_favorites, df_temp_unit, df_wind_unit, df_theme, df_drone_profile, df_custom_profile, df_model_id, df_kp_provider_id, df_alert_settings, df_trend_alert_settings, df_daylight_prefs, df_checklist_progress, df_flight_log_history, df_flight_session_id — remember your last location, saved favorite locations, display/unit preferences, your selected drone profile and weather-model/Kp-source choices, which per-metric and wind-direction/pressure alerts you've enabled, which twilight bands you show on the Daylight card, your checked-off pre-flight checklist items, your saved conditions snapshots (My Flights), and an anonymous id used only to group them (see privacy). None of this is sent to us as an account or identity.

Push notifications, if you enable them

If you enable an alert on a metric card (e.g. "notify me if wind exceeds X") and grant browser notification permission, this is different from the local storage above: your location, chosen drone profile, and alert thresholds are sent to and stored on our server, so the alert can still reach you with the app closed. See privacy for exactly what that involves. Disabling every alert removes this stored record; nothing is kept once no alert is enabled.

Analytics and advertising

These Google services load on every page and follow the choice you make in Google's consent message:

• Basic analytics (Google Analytics), to understand how the site is used. Until you consent, it runs in Consent Mode without analytics cookies; with your consent it may set cookies such as _ga.
• Third-party advertisements (Google AdSense), to support hosting and development costs. Ad providers may use cookies or similar technologies to personalize ads and measure performance in accordance with their own privacy policies. See Google's advertising policy for details on how Google uses this data.

EEA, UK and Switzerland: personalised ads and advertising cookies are used only if you consent in Google's message. If you choose “Do not consent”, Google may still show limited ads that are not personalised. United States: in states with privacy laws, you can opt out of personalised advertising at any time with the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link.
