Cookies & advertising
Last updated: August 2026
On your first visit you're asked to accept or reject non-essential cookies/local storage via the banner at the bottom of the screen. If you reject or take no action, no analytics or advertising scripts are loaded. You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
Always active (essential)
Regardless of your choice, we use a small amount of essential local browser storage to run the site:
df_cookie_consent— remembers your accept/reject choice itself, so you're not asked again every visit.df_last_location,df_favorites,df_temp_unit,df_wind_unit,df_theme,df_drone_profile,df_flight_session_id— remember your last location, saved favorite locations, display preferences, and an anonymous id used only to group your own logged flights (see privacy). None of this is sent to us as an account or identity.
Only after you accept
If you accept, we may additionally load:
- Basic analytics (Google Analytics), to understand how the site is used. Google may set its own cookies (e.g.
_ga) and process data per its own privacy policy. - Third-party advertisements (Google AdSense), to support hosting and development costs. Ad providers may use cookies or similar technologies to personalize ads and measure performance in accordance with their own privacy policies. See Google's advertising policy for details on how Google uses this data.
For visitors in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland: ad personalization there requires a properly certified consent mechanism under the IAB Europe Transparency & Consent Framework. If this site serves personalized ads to you, it does so only once that requirement is met for your session — the accept/reject banner alone does not itself imply personalized ad consent in those regions.
