Who is responsible for your data

UAV Meteo is independently operated by the UAV Meteo Team, which is responsible for the processing described on this page (the data controller). You can reach us at info@uavmeteo.com or through the contact page.

Your browser's geolocation permission is used only to fetch weather for your current position. Location lookups (both your device's coordinates and any place name you type into search) are proxied through our server to the third-party weather and geocoding APIs listed on our data sources page — currently Open-Meteo, LocationIQ, BigDataCloud and, where configured, Google Geocoding — but we do not log or store your coordinates or search queries server-side ourselves, with one exception, described next.

If you enable a push notification alert on any metric card (so it can reach you with the app closed), your coordinates, chosen drone profile, and the specific alert thresholds you set are stored server-side — this is what lets a scheduled check evaluate conditions on your behalf while the app isn't open. This record is tied to your browser's push subscription, not an account or any other identifying information, and is deleted once you disable every alert (or revoke notification permission). If you never enable a push alert, none of this applies to you.

Your last-used location and display preferences (units, theme, drone profile, saved favorites) are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and are not transmitted elsewhere by us — see our cookies page for the exact list of what's stored.

If you use "Save conditions" on the home page, we save an anonymous snapshot (location, time, and the weather conditions/rating shown at that moment) for our own internal review of how well our forecasts hold up — this is never linked to your identity, only to a random id generated in your browser, and is not shown publicly. We don't currently run an automatic deletion schedule for these anonymous snapshots; contact us if you'd like one removed.

If analytics or advertising is enabled on this site, those third-party providers may collect data according to their own privacy policies — see cookies & advertising for details on what's loaded and when. These providers (Google Analytics, Google AdSense) may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under their own respective safeguards.

If you use the contact form, the information you submit (name, email, message) is used only to answer your enquiry and is not shared with third parties. We keep messages only as long as we need them to answer you, and delete them after 12 months at the latest; contact us if you would like a message deleted sooner.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

This site is funded by ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before any personalised ads or advertising cookies are used; if you decline, only limited, non-personalised ads are shown. Legal basis and how long we keep data

Analytics and advertising cookies are used only on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Push-alert records, contact messages and anonymous "Save conditions" snapshots are processed to provide the feature you asked for or to answer you (legitimate interest). Your IP address is used briefly in server memory to protect the site against abuse (rate limiting) and is not stored for that purpose. Retention: push-alert records are kept until you disable every alert or revoke notification permission; contact messages for up to 12 months; anonymous "Save conditions" snapshots until you ask us to remove them.

Your choices

You can clear all locally stored preferences at any time by clearing your browser's site data for uavmeteo.com, and change your cookie, analytics and advertising choice at any time with the “Manage cookie preferences” button on our Cookies page.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over the data described on this page. For EEA, UK, and Swiss visitors, this includes the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time — for the cookie/analytics/ads choice, use the “Manage cookie preferences” button on our Cookies page; for the push-alert record, disabling every alert removes it. Because almost everything else this app stores lives only in your own browser, exercising most of these rights is usually as simple as clearing your browser's site data for uavmeteo.com. For anything that isn't, or if you believe we've mishandled your data, contact us via our contact page — EEA, UK, and Swiss visitors may also lodge a complaint with their local data protection supervisory authority. California residents have similar rights under the CCPA/CPRA; this site does not sell personal information for money, and you can opt out of personalised advertising at any time, as described on our Cookies page.
