UTM uses the standard WGS84 Transverse Mercator projection — the same reference ellipsoid most GPS devices and GIS software use.
How it works
Type or paste a latitude and longitude in either decimal degrees or DMS format — the converter detects which one you used automatically. Results show all three common formats: decimal degrees, DMS, and UTM (Universal Transverse Mercator), using the standard WGS84 ellipsoid.
Limitations
UTM coordinates are zone-based — always note the zone number and hemisphere alongside the easting/northing, since the same easting/northing pair means a different place in a different zone.
