How it works

Drop or choose a JPEG/TIFF photo and its EXIF metadata — camera make/model, lens, exposure settings, capture time, image dimensions, and GPS coordinates if present — is read directly from the file in your browser. The photo itself is never uploaded or sent anywhere.

Limitations

Many messaging apps and social platforms strip EXIF data (including GPS) before you download an image, so a re-saved copy often shows little or nothing here even if the original had full metadata. PNG and screenshot files typically carry no EXIF data at all.

No. Parsing happens entirely in your browser using your device’s own processing — the image file never leaves your device.

Some drones only embed GPS in the flight log, not the photo’s EXIF, or the setting to tag photos with location may be disabled in the drone’s camera settings.
