How it works
Field of view is the angle your camera actually sees, determined by sensor size and focal length. At a given altitude, that angle translates directly into how much ground area fits in a single frame — the same camera spec inputs the GSD calculator uses, computed differently.
Limitations
This is the rectilinear (standard lens) FOV formula — it doesn't account for fisheye/wide-angle lens distortion, which can genuinely widen the visible area beyond this calculation for some drones.
